She’s a porker!

Poppy and I went to see our midwife today so she could be weighed. At our appointment last week, Poppy should have weighed 10 pounds, 5 ounces but was short an ounce. Well, she more than made up for it this week. Today Julie weighed Poppy again and she was 11 pounds 5 ounces. A whole pound in one week! Julie is very happy about Poppy’s progress, thinks she is a very healthy little girl and is thriving. We go back to see Julie in two weeks, will be discharged from her care, and referred to a pediatrician. Just wanted to let you know that Poppy is right on track and growing like a weed.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel

I saw Julie, my midwife today, and we are booking an induction for Tuesday November 14th. Hopefully, I will go into labour before then but it’s really nice to know that there is an end date to all of this. In the meantime, I’m going to try all the tricks I’ve heard about to induce labour naturally. Wish me luck!

Everyone lost!

No one has picked a day past Friday for the baby pool. It’s now Saturday and Junior has yet to make his/her appearance. We’re still in waiting mode right now but will be discussing induction with my midwife when I see her again on Wednesday. Here’s hoping that something happens before then though. Jason’s mum is arriving from England today for 10 days to meet her new grandbaby and I don’t have one for her yet!

HEAD DOWN!!!

I just got back from my ultrasound and, much to our surprise, in the last week the baby has flipped and is now head down. I’m so relieved. Now we’re back on track for a natural birth. Junior’s not so junior though – 7 pounds already and 4 weeks to go!

Check out that little face…

Still head up

Junior is being one stubborn little baby. He/she still hasn’t turned and is getting a bit too big for it to happen. I’m trying one last thing on Wednesday (it’s called an external cephalic version) and if that doesn’t work, I’ll be booked for a c-section around the 20th of October. I’m trying to keep a positive outlook but neither of my midwives seem very hopeful that it will work. Jason and I both figure it’s worth a try though. Cross your fingers and toes for us please!

My fat belly

Last week, Evy asked me to put a picture of my belly on the blog so that Ryan, Lillie and Lauren could see their new cousin in progress. As you can see, he/she is coming along nicely. 8 weeks to go!

Phew!

The long, arduous journey of finding a stroller has ended. Why are they all so ugly? We spent most of the day driving to every single baby store in the GTA trying to find a stroller that wasn’t hideous and also wasn’t $700. Much harder than you’d think.

Now we can cross one more thing off our list…
