What’s for dinner?

🙂

The young couple invited their elderly pastor for Sunday dinner. While they were in the kitchen preparing the meal, the minister asked their son what they were having.

“Goat,” the little boy replied.

“Goat?” replied the startled man of the cloth. “Are you sure about that?”

“Yep,” said the youngster. “I heard Dad say to Mom, ‘Today is just as good as any to have the old goat for dinner.'”

Hello Wing Family. My apologies for cutting into your family website, but I am family – very distant family.

My name is Michael Wing, I live in Ottawa, Ontario. Your website was brought to my attention by a “cousin” who lives in Florida.

From the genealogy information you have posted, I’m guessing that your immediate family descends from Rev. John Wing’s son, Stephen and that your ancestors migrated to the Smith Falls/Leeds area after/during the American Revolution.

A bit about myself. I descend from Rev. John’s son, Daniel. My family migrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec around 1800. They remained there until my father moved to Toronto and then to Ottawa when I was 12. After my father died, my mother returned to Niagara Falls, where she was born.

A number of years back when I was doing some genealogy research on my family I came across the “Wing Family of America”, an organization founded over 100 years ago. Their primary purpose is to bring descendants of Rev. John and Deborah together and to research and gather family history. I got involved in the WFA after attending a national reunion in Sandwich, Mass., in 2006. In 2007 I volunteered to represent WFA members outside the U.S.

It is in this capacity that I am contacting you. I noticed that the Coat of Arms that you have on your website is the CoA that the WFA uses, so you may already be familiar with the organization. I would very much like to touch base with you to learn a little more about your family line. You can contact me at mwing(at sign)rogers.com.

    Hope to talk soon.

    Mike
