Lillie’s Birthday Celebration

We got home late last night from our latest Disney trip. We left Miami Thursday afternoon after school/work and drove to Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Since the next day was Lillie’s birthday she chose to go to Magic Kingdom. After spending the whole day enjoying the park we went to Chef Mickey’s for a character dinner. All-you-can eat in the company of Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Donald and Goofy. I was in pain when we left, but the prime rib, ham, salmon, and everything else was delicious.

The next morning (Saturday) we drove to Dunedin and watched the Blue Jays lose a close game to the Philadelphia Phillies. Spring training games are so much fun. Our “upper deck” seats were about 30 feet behind the dugout. Lillie barfed on the drive back to Orlando and most of the night but she woke up Sunday morning feeling pretty good. Saturday night Magic Kingdom was open until 10:00 p.m. so Ryan and I went back out about 9:15 and rode 4 rides and saw a parade in 45 minutes. The place was empty!

Sunday was Disney/MGM Studios day, but first Ryan and I got up early and got to Animal Kingdom right when it opened so that we could go on the new ride “Expedition Everest”. It is awesome! In a little over an hour we went on 3 great rides and then when back to the hotel to pick up the women. After spending the day at MGM (park closed at 7) we had dinner and then discovered that Magic Kingdom was open until midnight. Lillie, Ryan and I got there about 11:15 and did the same thing as the previous night. We had a lot of fun in less than an hour.

Since we drove home yesterday we saved Animal Kingdom for last because it closes at 5. We love going on the Safari, and we got soaked on the Kali River Rapids.

Thanks for your phone calls to Lillie on her birthday, and her presents of course. We’ll send pictures to Graham soon for posting on the family website. Excellent job on the banner, Jason.
